February 2008 Lamanai Mayan Ruins Photographs
Several of our team members spent their playtime on a trip to Lamanai Mayan Ruins. The trip begins with a 35 miles guided riverboat trip on the New River. The guide frequently stops the high-speed boat to show examples of interesting plants, birds, bats and crocodiles.
Lunch was served prior to the walking tour of Lamanai. The Lamanai Mayan Ruins are one of the better Mayan sites in Belize. Lamanai was one of only two temple sites still occupied when the Spanish arrived in Belize.
The full day concludes with a return riverboat ride to the starting point carrying a tired group of passengers.
